What is ConFuse?
ConFuse is a knowledge platform for teams. It brings your project's scattered knowledge — source code, documentation, design notes, and links — into one place, and lets you ask questions about it in plain language.
Instead of searching five different systems and reading twenty tabs, you ask a question and get an answer that is grounded in your own material, with the sources shown alongside it.
The problem it solves
Knowledge about a project rarely lives in one place. It is spread across repositories, wikis, design documents, chat threads and individual memories. That creates three familiar problems:
- Finding things is slow. The answer exists somewhere, but nobody knows where.
- New people take months to ramp up. They cannot ask the questions they need answered without interrupting someone.
- Answers are hard to trust. A confident answer and a correct answer look identical, so people re-check everything by hand.
ConFuse is built around the idea that an answer is only useful if you can see where it came from.
What you get
| Capability | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Connected sources | Bring in repositories, documents and web links. They become searchable together. |
| Plain-language questions | Ask the way you would ask a colleague. No query syntax required. |
| Grounded answers | Answers are built from your connected material, not from guesswork. |
| Visible sources | Every answer points back to the material it came from. |
| Clear gaps | When the sources do not cover something, the answer says so instead of inventing one. |
| AI agent support | Connect an AI assistant so it answers from your knowledge base rather than from general knowledge. |
Who it is for
- Team members who need a reliable answer without a hunt.
- New joiners who are ramping up and asking the same questions everyone asks.
- Tech leads and architects who need decisions and rationale to stay findable.
- Students and self-learners who want to understand how question-answering over a body of knowledge actually works — see the Learning Guide.
What ConFuse is not
It helps to be clear about boundaries:
- It is not a replacement for your source control or document store. It reads from them; it does not take them over.
- It is not a guarantee of correctness. It shows you the evidence so you can judge quickly. For high-stakes decisions, read the cited source.
- It will not answer from its own general knowledge when your sources are silent. A clear "this is not covered" is more useful than a confident guess.
